Position Summary
The Technical Analyst is a subject matter expert understanding technical architecture, process flow, enterprise integration, data configuration, and rules customizations for the Company’s P&C portfolio. The resource will have the responsibilities to define and document technical requirements, perform software configuration, design and develop complex integrations, and manage issue resolution working in a collaborative manner with clients
  • Provide advice to software development personnel (internal and external)
  • Conduct complicated walk-throughs of technical and operational features, functions and attributes of new and existing computer systems
  • Environment setup assisting client with database set-up and troubleshooting on an on-going basis
  • Train clients on running batch, configure batch schedulers, troubleshoot batch issues that may arise and respond to questions from clients on functionality and technical details
  • Perform technical analysis on complex integrations working with clients and 3rd parties when interfacing to various bureaus/external vendors to resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot/resolve technical issues related to functions such as rate loader, conversion, middleware (JBoss/WebSphere)
  • Set up of configuration as needed (initial and on-going)
  • Updates to database resolving a wide variety of data issues
  • Technical work related to Documents
  • Billing work mapping all transactions to the client’s GL Accounts and documenting the configuration needed for the financials
  • Provide assistance and mentoring to BA’s, developers and QA as needed (database queries, resolving technical issues, troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Data model and other technical training for clients
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or related field; related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement
  • 4-8 years of software development experience
  • Hands-on experience with the Java programming language
  • Superior knowledge of SQL, including complex multi-table queries
  • Understanding logical database design and physical database structures
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of RDBMS, especially tuning of complex database queries
  • Working knowledge of standard development tools: Eclipse, Maven, and Open Source Frameworks/Tools
  • Excellent understanding of OO software design
  • Excellent knowledge of application servers (JBoss, WebSphere), including configuration, monitoring and tuning preferred
  • Excellent understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with external, as well as internal clients for data gathering and design initiation. This includes both verbal and written communication skills
  • Property Casualty Insurance Knowledge a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of DB2, Oracle, SQL Server.
